Turkish Chamber of Commerce elections draw local business support

Local chamber of commerce elections in Turkey are drawing significant attention from business leaders. In Marmaris, Pineta Group Chairman Hüseyin Durmaz has voiced support for İdris Akgül and the ‘White List’ (Beyaz Liste) ahead of the upcoming elections. Durmaz criticized the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), questioning what major investments, such as schools or convention centers, have been made in Marmaris using the membership dues collected from local businesses.

In Nazilli, presidential candidate Özen Akgün, running with the ‘White List’, has issued a call for all members to participate in the elections scheduled for Sunday, October 4. Akgün, who has been meeting with tradespeople and industrialists across seven districts, emphasized a vision for change and regional trade development. He invited supporters of both the ‘White List’ and the rival ‘Blue List’ (Mavi Liste) to the polls to ensure a democratic process.
