Turkish chambers announce tax record reviews for upcoming elections
Various Turkish chambers of commerce have announced periods for members to review their tax liability records ahead of upcoming organ elections. These reviews are required under Law No. 5174 to ensure eligibility for voting or candidacy.
The Edirne Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ETSO) announced that membership tax records will be open for inspection at the General Secretariat from September 1 to September 11, 2026. Members must submit written requests with supporting documents from their respective tax offices to correct any errors; otherwise, the current records will be deemed accurate.
Similarly, the Karacabey Chamber of Commerce and Industry has scheduled its inspection period from August 31 to September 7, 2026. The chamber noted that elections are expected to take place in October or November 2026. Members who cannot be located, have suspended registrations due to membership fee debts, or are not income or corporate tax payers will be ineligible to vote or stand for election.
