Turkish chambers of commerce approach election cycles

Various Turkish chambers of commerce are approaching election cycles with new leadership candidates and strategic platforms.

In Çerkezköy, the ‘White List’ group, led by Ömer Karadeniz, is campaigning for the Çerkezköy Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ÇTSO) elections. Karadeniz emphasized a shift in governance, stating that the assembly should select the president rather than the president selecting the assembly. He noted that the election process involves selecting 15 professional groups and a 43-member assembly, which will subsequently elect the board chairman.

In Nazilli, incumbent President Nuri Arslan is running for re-election under the ‘Blue List’ for the Nazilli Chamber of Commerce. During visits to local tradesmen, Arslan outlined his vision for the next term, which includes major projects such as a ‘Long Life Village’, a second Organized Industrial Zone, and a new fairground area at the former Sümerbank Factory site to bolster the local economy.
