Turkish chambers of commerce hold regional elections

Various chambers of commerce and trade organizations across Turkey are undergoing election cycles for the 2026-2030 term.

In Denizli, the Denizli Ticaret Borsası (DTB) saw a significant shift as long-time President İbrahim Tefenlili failed to secure a seat in the new assembly despite his list winning the most council memberships. In Keşan, İsmail Şapçı’s Blue List secured all 14 professional committees. Meanwhile, the Adana Ticaret Odası (ATO) saw the Orange List announce its support for Mehmet Şahbaz.

In Ankara, the Ankara Ticaret Odası (ATO) has scheduled its elections for October 10, with President Gürsel Baran calling for member participation to ensure sectoral representation. In Bursa, the BTSO election features a contest between incumbent İbrahim Burkay and challenger Özer Matlı, focusing on economic transformation and transparency.

Other regional updates include the start of committee elections in Samsun and Alanya candidate Mustafa Tuna proposing a new ‘Congress and Event Economy’ project to boost Alanya’s year-round economic activity. In Mersin, discussions have emerged regarding the need for merit-based leadership at the MTSO.
