Turkish children's books on Atatürk and a young athlete-author launch
Dr. Aydemir Ay, a historian known for academic work on Edirne, published a free children's book titled *Atatürk Edirne’de – Bir Liderin Tarihi Ziyaretleri*. The book recounts Mustafa Kemal Atatürk’s four historic visits to Edirne (1909, 1913, 1916, 1930) in simple language, and adds puzzles, quizzes and activities to reinforce learning. Ay released the work online at no cost, aiming to strengthen children’s knowledge of Atatürk and local history.
Ten‑year‑old athlete Emrah Şenay from Balıkesir, who has won national and international sports titles, appeared at a talk organized by the Balıkesir Writers and Poets Association. He presented his own book, discussed his goal of becoming a globally recognized writer, and signed copies together with his grandfather, who performed a traditional folk song. Şenay’s interview highlighted his ambition to apply the discipline that led him to sport success to his writing career.
