Turkish cities Trabzon and Manisa aid YKS exam candidates with refreshments and transport
Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality set up support stations at Karadeniz Technical University and Trabzon University during the Yükseköğretim Kurumları Sınavı (YKS). Candidates and their families received water, cake and fruit juice, and the municipality provided an accessible‑taxi service for candidates with special needs, ensuring safe travel to and from the exam centers.
Manisa Metropolitan Municipality carried out a similar effort, placing water and lemonade kiosks at Manisa Celal Bayar University, local high schools and other campus entrances. The service operated throughout both the Basic Proficiency Test (TYT) and the Field Proficiency Test (AYT), assisting thousands of students and waiting relatives. Both initiatives were praised by the public for easing exam‑day stress.
