Turkish clubs Demirspor and Mimar Sinanspor confront financial and league hurdles

Eskişehir Demirspor is facing a crisis as an extraordinary general assembly was called after the TÜRASAŞ General Director Mehmet Ali Hünerlier demanded the club president step down. The club has not confirmed any candidate for the presidency, though regional manager Mustafa Karakoyun is widely discussed. Demirspor must raise a total of 1 million TL (250 k TL entry fee plus 750 k TL guarantee) by the deadline to secure participation in the Professional Transition League (PGL); failure could see the team excluded from the league for the upcoming season, threatening its long‑term stability.

Meanwhile, Mimar Sinanspor, promoted to the PGL after winning the 1st Amateur Division, has begun its pre‑season preparations under head coach Hüseyin Eğer. Training camps in Çorum will run through mid‑August, with a second phase scheduled for late August to early September. The club has already secured principle agreements with four new players and is evaluating additional domestic and foreign signings, aiming to build a competitive squad for its debut professional season.
