Turkish commodity exchange candidates announce agricultural trade visions
Candidates for leadership in regional commodity exchanges in Turkey have announced their platforms and objectives.
Zahit Beyazıt, running for the presidency of the Akhisar Commodity Exchange, emphasized his 20-year history in the olive trade within the region. He stated that his candidacy is focused on service rather than holding office, aiming to represent all stakeholders—including producers, merchants, industrialists, and small businesses—through a collaborative management approach.
In Akşehir, Rafet Akçetin, owner of Akçetin Bakliyat, has announced his candidacy for the Akşehir Commodity Exchange presidency. Akçetin aims to transform Akşehir into a regional agricultural trade center for oilseeds, cereals, and legumes. His vision includes creating a more organized wheat market and establishing a system that connects producers to wider markets while supporting livestock trade through increased transparency and reliability.
