Turkish commodity exchanges see leadership changes in Çorum and Çarşamba

Leadership changes have occurred at two Turkish commodity exchanges following recent elections.

Yılmaz Kaya has been elected as the new President of the Çorum Commodity Exchange. He ran as the sole candidate after the previous president, Naki Özkubat, who had held the position since 2018, chose not to run. A new Borsa Council has been formed, and Volkan Bülbül is expected to be appointed as the Council President. Kaya stated his intention to serve the agriculture and livestock sectors through a participatory management approach.

In Çarşamba, Kazım Yılmaz has stepped down from the presidency of the Çarşamba Commodity Exchange after serving four terms since 2009. Following the election results, Selim Yılmaz has been named the new president. Kazım Yılmaz, who has been involved with the exchange since 1991, expressed his respect for the election outcome and thanked his supporters for their trust over his 35-year tenure.
