Turkish Competition Authority fines seven forest products companies 1.3 billion TL
The Turkish Competition Authority has imposed administrative fines totaling approximately 1.3 billion TL on seven companies for violating competition laws during timber sales tenders organized by the General Directorate of Forestry.
The investigation focused on the supply of raw materials, such as MDF and particleboard, used extensively in the furniture, kitchen cabinet, and home decoration sectors. The Authority determined that the companies engaged in unlawful collusion rather than submitting independent bids, which prevented competitive pricing and reduced potential public revenue.
The largest penalties were issued to Kastamonu Entegre (515 million TL) and Yıldız Entegre (470 million TL). Other companies fined include Kronospan (148 million TL), Çamsan Ordu (88 million TL), Çamsan Entegre (57 million TL), Vezirköprü Orman Ürünleri (28 million TL), and Divapan (23 million TL).
While six of the companies opted for a settlement mechanism to resolve the investigation, the decision regarding Yıldız Entegre was concluded through standard investigation procedures.
