Turkish Construction Firms Target Massive Ukraine Reconstruction

Turkish contractors are positioning themselves to play a leading role in rebuilding Ukraine’s war‑torn infrastructure. A Turkey‑Ukraine Reconstruction Working Group, established in 2024, has set priorities that include transport links, bridges, roads, energy facilities, housing and social projects.

Companies such as Onur Group cite more than 13,000 projects worldwide worth $562 billion over the past five decades. In Ukraine they have already built roughly 6,000 km of road, five airports and numerous energy installations, and during the conflict they cleared about 80 km of mines and repaired roads. Executives say streamlined administrative procedures and state support would accelerate further investment in post‑war rebuilding.

The firms expect to expand into residential construction, additional energy plants and broader infrastructure work once hostilities cease, emphasizing flexibility and experience in challenging environments as competitive advantages over contractors from other nations.
