Turkish couple opens successful village pizzeria after returning from Sweden
Mustafa Aydın, 78, and his wife Döndü Aydın, 72, have opened a successful pizzeria in Çetmi village, located in the Kargı district of Çorum, Turkey, after returning from Sweden.
The couple lived in Sweden for approximately 50 years, working in the restaurant industry for 40 of those years. After retiring and moving back to their native village in 2017, Mustafa Aydın initially built a pizza oven in his garden as a hobby. Following positive feedback from guests, the couple transformed the hobby into a business.
The pizzeria has gained popularity through social media, attracting customers from various Turkish provinces including Ankara, Samsun, and Kastamonu. Aydın notes that he uses high-quality ingredients, such as whole wheat flour and spices imported from Sweden. The business operates seasonally from May to October. Due to its success, the couple has expanded with branches in Istanbul and Antalya, with plans to open a location in Mersin.
