Turkish court blocks access to influencer Engin Polat's Instagram account
Ankara's 3rd Civil Court (Sulh Ceza Hakimliği) ordered that access to Engin Polat's Instagram account be blocked from within Turkey after a request by the Ministry of Family and Social Services. The account, with roughly two million followers, had been used for advertising and was reportedly managed by Dilan Polat following the earlier ban on her own 6.3‑million‑follower account.
The restriction was implemented through the Information and Communication Technologies Authority (BTK) and extends the digital embargo that already applies to the Polat couple's other social‑media channels, including TikTok, Facebook and YouTube. The move highlights the authorities' willingness to enforce tighter controls on social‑media activity linked to the couple's commercial promotions.
