Turkish court issues divorce decree involving Canadian resident

The Tavas Civil Court of First Instance has issued a divorce decree between Şevket Göreli and Linda Carole, a Canadian citizen residing in Toronto, Ontario. The ruling, based on Article 166/1 of the Turkish Civil Code, was delivered in the presence of the plaintiff.

Due to unsuccessful attempts to locate the defendant through address searches, the decision is being served via public announcement. The parties have two weeks from the notification to appeal the decision to the Denizli Regional Court of Justice.
