Turkish courts announce expropriation for public works

Turkish courts in Çarşamba and Edirne have issued public notices regarding expropriation proceedings for infrastructure and road construction projects.

In Çarşamba, the Samsun Metropolitan Municipality has initiated legal action to expropriate properties in the Orta neighborhood for road construction. The proceedings involve the determination of property values and the registration of ownership in the name of the administration. Affected property owners have a specific window to submit defenses or file for the cancellation of the administrative decision.

In Edirne, the General Directorate of Highways is pursuing the expropriation of various land parcels in the Havsa district, specifically in the Hasköy and Söğütlüdere areas. Following failed negotiations regarding purchase prices and installments, the Edirne 2nd Civil Court of First Instance has been petitioned to determine the compensation amounts and register the titles to the state, free of any existing encumbrances.
