Turkish Courts Approve State Expropriation in Çaykara and Kangal Districts
The Çaykara Asliye Hukuk Mahkemesi scheduled a hearing for 15 October 2026 on a claim by the state agency TİSKİ to expropriate a parcel in Uzungöl, Trabzon Province. The court ordered that, unless the defendants file an administrative‑court cancellation within 30 days, the expropriation will proceed and the compensation determined by the court will be paid.
The Kangal Asliye Hukuk Mahkemesi ruled in favor of Turkey Electricity Distribution Inc. (TEDAŞ) for the expropriation of a 10.58 m² area and the establishment of a permanent easement over a 1 410.67 m² area in Avşarören village, Sivas Province. The court set the expropriation compensation at 14 694.77 TL, deducted an seizure fee, and ordered payment with applicable interest. Both decisions require registration of the new title with the relevant land registry offices.
