Turkish courts block Istanbul Yargılıyor platform and social media accounts

Turkey's Istanbul 8th Civil Court of First Instance ordered the Istanbul Yargılıyor website (istanbulyargiliyor.com) to be taken offline on 31 July 2026, citing national security and public order. The same ruling also required the platform's Instagram account (@istanbulyargiliyor) to be made invisible, a measure previously applied by the Istanbul 11th Civil Court on 10 April 2026.

Earlier, the Istanbul 6th Civil Court had blocked the related "İstanbul İddianamesi" site and its X (formerly Twitter) account in November 2025 for the same reasons. The platform publishes claims, defenses and live courtroom updates concerning the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality lawsuit. Authorities indicated that legal actions against such platforms will continue.

The blocks affect the platform’s domain, Instagram presence, and X account, all rendered inaccessible from Turkey.
