Turkish Courts Order Property Seizures and Expropriations in Bursa, Erzurum and Bartın

Several Turkish district courts have issued rulings involving the seizure or expropriation of real‑estate assets. In Bursa, the 4th Civil Court of First Instance confirmed that Mustafa Mutahhar Sever acted as a joint guarantor for a 50 million TL loan with T. Garanti Bankası and ordered provisional attachment of his share in a property in Kayseri after the borrowing company defaulted.

In the Tekman district of Erzurum Province, the court published a public notice for a kamulaştırma (expropriation) proceeding initiated by TEDAŞ Genel Müdürlüğü to acquire land for an energy transmission line, outlining the parcels, compensation procedure and a 30‑day period for objections. Similar expropriation cases were announced by the Kangal court in Sivas for a road project and by the Bartın court for a housing development, each detailing the land parcels, expert valuation reports and scheduled hearing dates. All rulings require the parties to present defenses within prescribed deadlines and stipulate that compensation payments be deposited with the respective banks.
