Turkish courts issue rulings on land expropriation for infrastructure

Turkish courts in Tekman and Sorgun have issued notices regarding land expropriation for infrastructure projects.

In Tekman, the Tekman Civil Court of First Instance has announced an expropriation process initiated by TEDAŞ for the construction of energy transmission lines within the Koçyayla Group. The process involves specific parcels in the Kuruca neighborhood of the Erzurum province. Affected parties have a thirty-day window to file for the cancellation of the expropriation or to contest material errors.

In Sorgun, the Sorgun 1st Civil Court of First Instance has ruled on an expropriation case involving land in the Küçükköhne village of Yozgat. The court approved the establishment of permanent easement rights and the registration of specific land portions to the plaintiff institution. The ruling also includes the determination of compensation amounts for the defendants and the application of high interest rates on public receivables for the period between the lawsuit date and the decision date, in accordance with Constitutional Court precedents.
