Neşet Ertaş commemorated through cultural events in Turkey

Turkish folk music icon Neşet Ertaş was commemorated through various cultural events across Turkey. In Çeşme, a special concert was held at the Çakabey Culture Center on Friday, September 25, to mark the 14th anniversary of his passing. Led by Çeşme Municipality Turkish Folk Music Choir conductor Osman Uysal, the performance featured the works of the artist known as ‘Bozkırın Tezenesi’. The event also served a social purpose, with a call for solidarity to provide a motorized wheelchair for Emirhan Aydınelli, a physically disabled individual.

In Ankara, the Seymen and Bacıeren traditions performed at the ‘Eşik’ concert by the Ankara State Turkish Folk Music Choir as part of the Turkey Culture Road Festival. Held at the CSO Ada Ankara Historical Hall, the event aimed to represent the capital's cultural heritage by blending traditional folk melodies with local customs.

Additionally, a ‘Neşet Ertaş Commemoration and City Awards’ program was organized in Kocaeli through a collaboration between the Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality and the Kocaeli Central Anatolia Provincial Associations Platform. The ceremony honored Ertaş’s musical legacy and recognized individuals contributing to the values of Kocaeli.
