Turkish Cultural Festivals Scheduled Across Turkey and Chicago in August

The Republic of Turkey announced the August‑September schedule for its eight‑month Türkiye Kültür Yolu (Culture Road) Festival, featuring concerts, exhibitions, theatre, and workshops in cities including Nevşehir, Malatya, Erzurum, Ordu, Çanakkale, Kayseri, Kahramanmaraş, Ankara and Istanbul. The Ankara segment runs from 19 – 27 September, with dozens of performances and cultural events expected to draw large local audiences.

In the United States, the Turkish Festival will be held at the Tinley Park Convention Center near Chicago on 1 – 2 August. Organisers anticipate around 10,000 visitors from multiple states. The program includes Turkish cuisine, folk dances, Sufi whirling, concerts and cultural panels. Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson has proclaimed August as “Turkish Heritage Month,” highlighting the Turkish‑American community’s contributions to the city.

Both events aim to promote Turkish culture, arts and heritage to domestic and international audiences.
