Turkish intellectuals D. Mehmet Doğan and İsmail Fenni Ertuğrul commemorated

The second anniversary of the passing of D. Mehmet Doğan, the founding and honorary president of the Union of Turkish Writers (TYB), is being observed. Doğan, a writer, poet, and thinker, dedicated his life to the preservation of Islamic thought, culture, and the Turkish language. His notable works include ‘Batılılaşma İhaneti’ and the ‘Büyük Türkçe Sözlük’. Throughout his career, he held positions in various institutions, including the Turkish Historical Society and the Ministry of Culture, and was instrumental in several cultural initiatives.

Separately, the legacy of İsmail Fenni Ertuğrul, a scholar and musicologist, is being commemorated on the 80th anniversary of his death. Ertuğrul, who passed away at age 91, donated his valuable collection of books, musical notes, and notebooks to the Beyazıt State Library. The donation, which included significant musical manuscripts, was managed with great care by library officials to ensure the preservation of these historical documents.
