Turkish Defense Minister Yaşar Güler attends Special Forces graduation

Turkish Defense Minister Yaşar Güler attended the closing ceremony of the 18th Term Special Forces Command Specialization Course. Accompanied by Chief of General Staff General Selçuk Bayraktaroğlu, Güler congratulated the graduates, known as ‘Bordo Bereliler’, for completing their rigorous training.

Güler highlighted the increasingly complex and unpredictable global security environment, citing the impacts of tensions between the US and Iran, Israel’s actions in Gaza and other regional countries, and the Russia-Ukraine war. He emphasized that the Turkish Armed Forces continue to perform their duties effectively and deterringly both domestically and cross-border.

The Minister noted that the Special Forces have played a critical role in the country’s counter-terrorism efforts, stating they have played an important part in bringing terrorism to the brink of ending through heroic and selfless service.
