Turkish dental education sees new graduates and specialization programs

Turkish dental education institutions are reporting significant developments in both graduation and specialized training. At Çukurova University, 110 dentists graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry during the 27th term ceremony. During the event, the President of the Adana Chamber of Dentists, Dr. Hasan Boğa, noted that while there are approximately 60,000 dentists in Turkey, recent reductions in faculty quotas may impact future employment levels.

Simultaneously, Karabük University has officially launched its Dentistry Specialization Training (DUS) program. Authorized by the Ministry of Health's Medical Specialization Board, the faculty has opened specialization programs in Endodontics and Pediatric Dentistry. This expansion follows efforts to double the faculty's academic staff and involves clinical coordination with the Karabük Oral and Dental Health Training and Research Hospital to produce qualified specialist dentists.
