Turkish Deputy Ministers highlight defense and economic growth in Konya

During a program celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Konya branch of the Entrepreneurs and Businessmen Foundation (GİV), Deputy Minister of National Defense Musa Heybet highlighted the significant advancements in Turkey's defense industry. He stated that the rate of domestic and national production in the defense sector has reached approximately 85 percent, noting the successful creation of an ecosystem capable of producing complex items such as missiles, drones, and warships.

Heybet emphasized that despite being surrounded by a ‘ring of fire,’ Turkey remains a strong state with high deterrence capabilities. He reaffirmed the commitment to the ‘Century of Türkiye’ vision, noting the continuous progress of engineers and technical universities.

Additionally, Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Security Faruk Özçelik discussed the economic growth of Konya. He pointed to the city's strength in both agriculture and industry, noting that Konya manages approximately 2.2 million hectares of agricultural land and supports a vast industrial network including 12 organized industrial zones and 62,000 workplaces.
