Turkish diplomats mark Victory Day with receptions in Washington, Sarajevo, and Zagreb

Turkish embassies in Washington, D.C., Sarajevo, and Zagreb held receptions to commemorate August 30 Victory Day and Turkish Armed Forces Day.

In Washington, Ambassador Sedat Önal highlighted the historical significance of the victory in shaping the Turkish national identity. He stated that as Turkey enters its second century, the nation possesses increased confidence and the capacity to contribute to regional and global peace, security, and prosperity. He also noted the importance of bilateral and multilateral relations with NATO ally the United States.

In Sarajevo, Ambassador Emin Akseki emphasized the strength of the Turkish Armed Forces and expressed Turkey's commitment to supporting the modernization of the Bosnian military and maintaining the country's territorial integrity. In Zagreb, Ambassador Nurdan Erpulat Altuntaş reaffirmed Turkey's commitment to peace and diplomacy across the Middle East, Balkans, Caucasus, and Black Sea regions, advocating for sustainable political solutions through dialogue.
