Bornova municipality launches round‑the‑clock neighborhood cleaning drive

Bornova Municipality has begun a continuous, detailed cleaning operation in the Mevlana neighbourhood. Teams from the city's Cleaning Works Department sweep streets, clear vacant lots, collect litter and remove dry leaves, working seven days a week, 24 hours a day. Mayor Ömer Eşki said the crews will operate "7 days 24 hours on the ground" and that the effort will be repeated periodically across all neighbourhoods to keep the district clean and livable.

The programme is scheduled as a rotating, weekly initiative so that no street or alley is left unattended. The aim is to improve public hygiene, reduce visual pollution and raise the overall quality of life for residents throughout Bornova, one of İzmir’s most densely populated districts.
