Turkish dried fruit exporters target Indian market with sectoral delegation

The Aegean Dried Fruit and Products Exporters' Association organized a sectoral purchasing delegation from India to İzmir and Gaziantep to increase the presence of Turkish dried fruits in the Indian market.

During the İzmir leg of the visit, seven leading Indian firms specializing in dried and nut fruits held approximately 150 bilateral business meetings with more than 20 Turkish exporters. Discussions focused on establishing new trade routes and long-term partnerships for products where Turkey holds a market lead, specifically dried apricots, dried figs, seedless raisins, and pistachios.

According to Yusuf Gabay, Chairman of the Aegean Dried Fruit and Products Exporters' Association, Turkey's total exports to India reached $1.241 billion in 2025. For the period of January to August 2026, exports grew by 6 percent to reach $863 million, with annual food product exports to India totaling $133 million. Strategic meetings were also held with representatives from the Nuts and Dry Fruits Council (India) and the Forum of Indian Food Importers to enhance sectoral communication and cooperation.
