Turkish driver receives humorous penalty after leaving wife on roadside to evade traffic check

In Burdur, Turkey, a driver attempted to evade a traffic inspection by dropping his wife off on the roadside to avoid a fine for exceeding the vehicle's legal passenger capacity. The incident occurred on the Çavdır-Korkuteli highway when Ünal Oral and Vesile Oral encountered a police checkpoint.

Upon noticing the driver had left his wife behind, police officers used an official patrol vehicle to pick up Vesile Oral and bring her back to the checkpoint. Instead of issuing a formal administrative fine, a police officer opted for a humorous warning, telling the driver, “You will wash the dishes tonight.” The officer added that even if there are no dishes, the driver should help with the housework to make up for making his wife walk.

The lighthearted interaction between the officers and the couple drew smiles from bystanders at the scene.
