Turkish Embassy in Cairo hosts Victory Day reception
The Turkish Embassy in Cairo hosted a formal reception to celebrate Turkish Victory Day on August 30. The event, held at the residence of the Turkish Ambassador, was attended by numerous foreign ambassadors, approximately 60 military attachés, 200 guests, business representatives, and members of the press.
During the ceremony, Brigadier General Tahir Engin Belgin read a message from President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. The Turkish Ambassador to Egypt, Salih Mutlu Şen, delivered a speech emphasizing the strategic importance of strengthening ties between Turkey and Egypt. He noted that both nations possess professional armed forces and significant defense industry capabilities that can contribute to regional stability.
Ambassador Şen highlighted that Ankara views diplomacy as a vital component of deterrence, particularly given the security and humanitarian challenges in the Middle East, North Africa, the Eastern Mediterranean, the Horn of Africa, and the Red Sea. He also expressed interest in Egypt joining the Mecca Agreement, recently signed by Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and Turkey, and noted recent high-level communications regarding defense industry cooperation.
