Turkish entrepreneur İsmail Yiğit unveils 'Askıda' donation platform

İsmail Yiğit, a 38‑year‑old entrepreneur from İnegöl, Bursa, has created a digital donation platform called “Askıda” to combat rising donation fraud in Turkey. After six months of development, he filed a patent for the system and is now looking for investors to bring it to market.

The platform directs donations straight to a state‑guaranteed IBAN, giving the operator no authority to withdraw or transfer the funds. Donors choose a category—such as student support, food, market or clothing—and can give without registering. Identity can be verified through e‑Devlet or NFC‑enabled Turkish ID. Transactions at participating merchants are secured with QR‑code and location verification, and beneficiaries can spend their allocated balance via QR codes at those locations. All actions are recorded for full transparency.

Yiğit emphasizes that “Askıda” acts only as a digital bridge between donor and recipient, ensuring that contributions are used solely for the intended purpose.
