Turkish firms expand digital and economic presence in Central Asia
Türk Telekom International (TTI) is expanding its technological footprint in Central Asia, positioning itself as a digital bridge between Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. During the Global Operator Connectivity Meeting (GCCM) in Almaty, Kazakhstan, TTI signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Akashi Data Center to strengthen regional connectivity.
TTI operates an international fiber network of approximately 50,000 kilometers, including submarine cable systems, with over 135 points of presence across 24 countries. The company aims to leverage its infrastructure to provide optimized connectivity, cybersecurity, and cloud computing services across the region.
Simultaneously, Turkish investors are increasingly viewing Kazakhstan as a strategic hub for Central Asia and Eurasia. With a GDP exceeding $300 billion, Kazakhstan's position on the Middle Corridor between China and Europe makes it a focal point for trade and logistics. Turkish investments in the country have reached approximately $6 billion, with significant activity in infrastructure, production, and transportation sectors.
