Turkey's Central Bank reserves fall to $160.5 billion
The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey reported that its total international reserves dropped by $2.81 billion in the week ending 17 July, reaching $160.49 billion, down from $163.30 billion the week before. Gross foreign‑exchange reserves fell by $1.70 billion to $65.43 billion, while gold holdings declined by $1.12 billion to $95.06 billion. Turkish-language reports from the same period give matching figures: total reserves at $160.5 billion, gross foreign reserves around $65.4 billion, and gold reserves near $95 billion. The decline reflects recent fluctuations in foreign‑exchange assets and gold valuations amid evolving domestic and global market conditions, drawing close attention from investors monitoring Turkey’s external financial strength and the central bank’s ability to support financial stability.
