Turkish folk music concerts in Kütahya and Trabzon attract crowds

A solo and choir folk concert themed “Our Folk Songs, Our Values” was held at the Hezar Dinari Cultural Center in Kütahya as part of the 16th International Hisarlı Ahmet Symposium. The event featured the Kütahya Ahmet Yakupoğlu Fine Arts High School Turkish Folk Music Ensemble under conductor Erhan Bozkurt, guest artist Osman Fethi Ark, and highlighted cultural memory and traditional values. Deputy mayor Ejderhan Gezer attended, and the audience responded with prolonged applause.

On 16 May 2026, the sister trio SAMİDA (Yudum, Damla and Tamara Şahin) performed at the KTÜ Atatürk Cultural Center Hasan Saka Hall in Trabzon. The group, known for blending Black Sea music with Laz, Georgian, Megrelian, Hemshin and Balkan languages, presented a multilingual repertoire accompanied by panduri, cello, flute and violin. Following a concert in Artvin, this stop was part of a national tour that has drawn strong ticket demand.
