Trabzonspor's Youth and Scouting Overhaul Accelerates Under New Management

Since Ertuğrul Doğan became president, Trabzonspor has intensified its focus on home‑grown talent. The club signed five academy players to professional contracts, later extending deals to a total of 13 youngsters, a record for the team. A strengthened scouting department, led by Eren Mert, secured the €7 million transfer of Sidny Lopes Cabral, highlighting a shift toward strategic, low‑cost acquisitions.

Head coach Fatih Tekke, speaking on television, described the club’s recent hardships and the extensive rebuilding effort. He noted that more than 395 players were evaluated during the transfer window and that the team moved from a period of low confidence and poor results to a markedly improved situation.
