Turkish football clubs navigate major transfer negotiations

Major Turkish football clubs Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe are actively navigating transfer market complexities ahead of the new season.

Galatasaray has reportedly reached personal terms with Portuguese winger Rafael Leao. While the club has secured agreements with several players, negotiations with selling clubs have stalled. The primary obstacle is the structure of the offers; clubs are reportedly rejecting loan deals with purchase options in favor of direct permanent transfers, while Galatasaray's direct buyout offers have been deemed too low.

Fenerbahçe is considering the sale of Brazilian goalkeeper Ederson to Juventus. The club aims to reduce its high wage bill and comply with new foreign player regulations. Should the transfer proceed, Fenerbahçe is expected to target Turkish national goalkeeper Berke Özer, currently playing for Lille, as a replacement.
