Turkish football clubs rank 6th globally in transfer spending

According to FIFA transfer reports, Turkish football clubs have demonstrated high spending levels during the recent transfer window, ranking 6th globally in total expenditure. Turkish clubs spent approximately $514 million to acquire 262 players, representing a 17% increase compared to the same period last year.

Despite the high investment, Turkish clubs face a significant economic deficit. While the Süper Lig ranked 7th in Europe for transfer spending with approximately €406.79 million, it ranked last among the top ten leagues in terms of revenue generated from player sales, earning only €120.33 million. This resulted in a net deficit of €286.46 million for the league.

In contrast, other major European leagues showed different financial patterns. The English Premier League led in spending with €4.12 billion, while France's Ligue 1 led in sales revenue, generating €1.33 billion. Germany and France were among the leagues that concluded the period with a positive balance, whereas the Premier League, Serie A, and La Liga all reported net deficits.
