Turkish Football Federation raises amateur league licensing fees for 2026‑27 season

The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) announced that the 2026‑2027 amateur football season will operate through a Digital Licensing System. Clubs must upload documents online and receive approvals digitally. Age categories have been shifted forward by one year, with specific birth‑year brackets for the PGL, Super Amateur, 1st Amateur and 2nd Amateur leagues.

Health requirements are stricter: players born in 1990 or earlier must provide a cardiology report, and those whose age is in doubt may be subject to biological‑age testing. Transfers of players under 18 now require club consent, and contribution fees for moving from amateur to professional status can reach up to 1 million TL.

The TFF also increased the financial charges for amateur clubs. License fees range from 500 TL to 14 000 TL, season visas cost 500 TL, local transfers are billed between 2 500 TL and 7 500 TL, the fee to return to amateur status is 40 000 TL, and a name or colour change can cost 100 000 TL. The ASKF president Ömer Altuntaş warned that these amounts place clubs in a severe financial strain and called for the fees to be realised, announcing an urgent meeting of the ASKF board.
