Turkish Jandarma Boosts Forest Fire Readiness in Muğla and Bursa
Jandarma personnel in Muğla received comprehensive forest‑fire training coordinated by the Muğla Forest Regional Directorate. The program covered theoretical instruction on fire causes, spread, wind effects and safety, followed by practical drills on using fire‑suppression equipment and first‑response tactics.
In Bursa, Jandarma units maintain continuous 24‑hour surveillance of the Uludağ mountain area, a hotspot for forest fires. Special Operations, Search‑Rescue and Public Order teams employ night‑vision, thermal cameras, drones and other ground vehicles to monitor the region, especially during weekends and holidays, and urge citizens to report any smoke to emergency services.
