Turkish Governors Akbıyık and Varol Hold Security Meetings in Muğla and Aydın

Governor Dr. İdris Akbıyık chaired the Muğla Provincial Security and Public Order Coordination Meeting, reviewing crime‑prevention, anti‑terrorism, cyber‑crime, drug trafficking, illegal migration and environmental safety measures. He emphasized a zero‑tolerance approach to gender‑based violence and pledged continued inter‑agency coordination to protect citizens and property.

In Aydın, Governor Dr. Osman Varol presented the July security report, noting 1,043 enforcement actions, inspections of over 1,000 businesses, and the seizure of firearms, ammunition, narcotics and synthetic drugs. Authorities reported a 99 % clearance rate for 4,822 incidents, arresting more than 1,470 suspects, including many with finalized prison sentences. The governor highlighted the sustained effort of police and gendarmerie units to maintain public safety across the province.
