Turkish Grain Board begins barley sales to stabilize feed market
The Turkish Grain Board (TMO) has launched its barley sales program for the 2026/27 season to increase the supply of domestic feed raw materials and ensure market stability. Following the completion of the 2026 grain harvest, the sale of barley from existing stocks began on September 17, 2026.
The sale price for both domestic and imported barley has been set at 14,000 TL per ton, excluding VAT and manipulation fees. For barley released from the Electronic Product Traceability System (ELÜS), the closed warehouse sale price is 14,300 TL per ton, including manipulation and transport fees.
In the initial phase, sales are restricted to large and small ruminant livestock breeders and direct feed factories, based on actual one-month consumption. Poultry breeders and crushers/flakers are excluded from this specific program. Payments must be made in cash; however, livestock breeders may use credit cards via Ziraat Bank POS terminals for single-payment transactions. A total of 102,794 tons of barley have been made available for sale.
