Turkish Grain Board sets green lentil purchase price at 32,000 lira per ton

The Turkish Grain Board (TMO) has announced a purchase price of 32,000 lira per ton for natural green lentils. This marks the first time the institution has set a specific purchase price for this crop since 2021, as market prices had previously met producer expectations.

Green lentil production for 2026 is projected to reach 48,000 tons, representing a 62.6 percent increase compared to the previous year. The TMO will begin purchasing products on August 31. To prevent long wait times at collection points, the agency will continue using an appointment-based system, which can be accessed via the TMO website, e-Devlet, or local branch offices.

Purchases will be conducted six days a week, excluding Sundays and official holidays. Payments will be transferred to producers' bank accounts starting 21 days after delivery. Additionally, the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry will provide supplementary support, including basic support, planned production support, and certified seed usage support. The TMO stated it will purchase the entire amount of production registered in the Farmer Registration System (ÇKS) and will cover exchange registration fees.
