Turkish health centers provide free cancer screenings and obesity treatments

Public health centers in Turkey are providing various specialized medical services to citizens. In Van, the Healthy Life Center offers free services including cancer screenings, smoking cessation support, and assistance for disadvantaged groups such as the elderly, disabled, and victims of violence. Cancer screenings are provided for specific age groups, including cervical, breast, and colorectal cancer detection.

In Trabzon, an obesity center operating since 2019 has assisted 1,400 patients in achieving healthy weight loss through a multidisciplinary approach. The center, located at Trabzon University Faculty of Medicine, utilizes a team of physicians, dietitians, psychologists, and physiotherapists to create personalized treatment plans for individuals with a body mass index of 30 or higher. Medical professionals emphasize the importance of early diagnosis to prevent complications such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and sleep apnea.
