Turkish honey from Eğriçayır Plateau wins gold at National Honey Show
Honey produced in the Eğriçayır Plateau of Mersin, Turkey, has been named the world champion at the 95th National Honey Show held in the United Kingdom. The honey, characterized by its high Total Activity (TA) value, secured a gold medal in the international Class 11 category, which evaluates honey produced outside the British Isles, the Channel Islands, and the Republic of Ireland.
Representing Turkey, beekeeper Celal Çay presented the polyfloral flower honey harvested from the Taurus Mountains at an altitude of 2,000 meters. The region's unique climate and diverse flora contribute to the honey's distinct aroma and flavor profile. The National Honey Show, which has a history spanning 103 years, is a long-standing international competition for honey producers.
