Turkish hospitals expand intensive care capacity and upgrade facilities

Healthcare facilities in Turkey are undergoing significant upgrades and expansions. In Diyarbakır, the Gazi Yaşargil Training and Research Hospital has opened a new 60-bed, third-level intensive care unit. This expansion increases the province's total third-level adult intensive care capacity from 98 to 158 beds, a roughly 60 percent increase. The unit is equipped with modern monitoring systems and mechanical ventilators, with the first 10 beds currently active and the remaining beds to be integrated gradually.

In Uşak, the Uşak Training and Research Hospital has completed several facility improvements using its own resources and technical staff. These upgrades include the renovation of patient toilets and sinks, the addition of 20 new benches in waiting areas, and sidewalk adjustments to improve safety and accessibility, particularly during winter months.
