Turkish industry leaders warn of rising production costs and geopolitical risks

Turkish industry and agricultural leaders are raising alarms regarding rising production costs and geopolitical instability. Selçuk Erten has called for long-term policies to protect the poultry sector, noting that high costs for feed, energy, and labor threaten the sustainability of producers and the broader economic chain, including logistics and employment. Erten also emphasized the need for accessible biosecurity infrastructure to protect food supplies from disease risks.

In Kayseri, Abidin Özkaya, President of the Kayseri Chamber of Industry (KAYSO), highlighted the challenges facing manufacturers due to regional tensions. He noted that while Turkey maintains a prudent foreign policy, the proximity to conflict zones has led to increased prices for oil, natural gas, and commodities. These factors, combined with rising input costs, supply chain issues, difficult financial conditions, and intense competition from the Far East, are creating significant economic stress for Turkish industrialists.
