Turkish influencer Mesut Can Tomay arrested in Istanbul drug probe

Turkish actor and social‑media personality Mesut Can Tomay was taken into custody by Istanbul police after a drug‑trafficking investigation connected to his residence in the Şişli district. Prosecutors allege Tomay ordered a bag of narcotics and had his friend conceal it in a gas‑cooker cupboard, later inviting another suspect to retrieve it. Police discovered the bag, detained Tomay and two additional suspects, and transferred him to the Sulh Ceza (civil) Court for further proceedings.

In his statement to prosecutors, Tomay said the substance was for his own use, expressed regret, and indicated he feared the impact of a drug case on a public figure.
