Turkish Internet Media Union launches new advisory board drive for digital media standards

The Turkish Internet Media Union (TİMBİR) announced a more active role for its Advisory Board as it begins a new term. Advisory Board Chair İsmail Kahraman said the board will work with public institutions, universities, NGOs and media stakeholders to promote accurate, fast and reliable information, strengthen local and national digital outlets, support young journalists and align digital publishing with international standards. He emphasized the fight against disinformation and the need for ethical journalism.

TİMBİR General President Dr. Süleyman Basa and Deputy General President Özkan Dikmen echoed the commitment to enhance the credibility and quality of internet journalism. New member Karakaş described the appointment, made by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s decree, as an honor and pledged to work day and night for responsible, independent digital media in Turkey.
