Turkish judokas claim bronze and chase medals at Balkan Judo Championships in Tirana

Mehmet Akif Çelik of Konya DSİ Spor Kulübü won a bronze medal in the veteran category at the Balkan Judo Championships held in Tirana, Albania, on 1‑2 August 2026, representing Turkey. Club president Murat Nazar praised the achievement, saying it brought pride to Konya, Bursa and the nation.

Two other Turkish judokas, Settar Karaca (‑81 kg) and Muhammet Çağrı Bilecan (‑90 kg) of Osmangazi Belediyespor, are also competing at the same event with the goal of reaching the podium for Turkey.
