Turkish local officials celebrate student success in YKS 2026

Local officials in Turkey are celebrating students who achieved high marks in the 2026 Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS).

In Fatsa, Mayor İbrahim Etem Kibar hosted students, their families, and educators at the municipality to recognize their placements in prestigious institutions. Successful students included Rana Esmer at Koç University, Mustafa Bedir Durmaz and Emir Mücahit Durmaz at Ankara University, Selin Özge Coşkun at Boğaziçi University, and Hamza Yatı at Anadolu University.

In Cizre, District Governor Ahmet Vezir Baycar and District Director of National Education Şahan İke visited the homes of successful students to offer congratulations and gifts. Notable students recognized during these home visits included Mücella Yağmur Akkaya and Adem Ercan, both of whom earned placements at Istanbul University Çapa Faculty of Medicine.
